Memoriam

Some patriotically themed designs I made in observance of today's holiday, Memorial Day.

Batik Flag Mandala

Memoriam colorway for RYO2013

One you can stitch, one just to look at. The stitched mandala is one of the 50+ colorways I have previewed in the Roll Your Own mandala Yahoo Group.  The painted mandala was created digitally with my Wacom Bamboo and Art Rage 4. Prints are available on my Deviant Art page.

We're Not Dead Yet

Usually, it's me sending boxes off to distributors, but today I got one of the inevitable boxes sent in the other direction. As you can imagine warehouse space becomes limited as the number of designers and their respective designs continue to grow, so they send back a box of the slowest movers. These are some of the Ink Circles titles that you won't find through Hoffmans now, but they are still in print and available through me (both to shops and to individual stitchers.) Click the titles to see a bigger picture or to place an order.

Roll Your Own Mandala

It's the big unveiling of a project I've been working on for quite some time. Woohoo! I'm calling it the "Roll Your Own" mandala, because it's not just a chart I'm providing. It's a whole system that will let you colorize the mandala to your own kaleidoscopic heart's content. I'll be running it out of a Yahoo Group. There is a $15USD fee to join the group, but you get the pdf of the chart and support files. I've added the Group Fee as an item in my web shop to make things simpler (no shipping, of course.)

Same mandala - different moods

This is the same mandala colored nine different ways just to show how varied they will come out.  Each stitcher will pick out four color families and three values (light, medium, dark) of each. We plug in the numbers, and my shading key takes over. It's as easy to follow as a regular chart (since it IS a regular chart) once you pick the colors. You can use any solid color floss brand you like - HDF, DMC, etc. Those of you who have done one of these color-it-yourself mandalas with me know how much fun it is.

I think the group will be a great opportunity to share color combinations and idea. There's no obligation to stay in the group or to actively participate once you get the files, but I expect it to evolve into a pleasant stitch along. I should be able to punch out some previews of your combos, too (within reason, of course.) The question might be whether you can stitch it only once.
