An Inkling of an Inkling

I've decided to give a special name to some smaller pieces that I'll be putting out.  They're going to be called "Inklings."  Twisted Heart would have been one, if I had thought of the name back then.  I love doing bigger projects, but it's so nice to have some littler ones to shake things up.  The first official one will be Fleur d'Orleans, and this is your sneak peek.

I'm debating between an oval frame and a flat fold. Thoughts?  I definitely need to find some Mardi Gras beads for the leaflet photo.  I should have the chart ready for release after Christmas, which should leave plenty of time for stitching it up before the King Cake goes in the oven.

Thanks go to Nick Pericone for suggesting I do a fleur de lys design.

  1. I WANT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love fleur de lys. Though I will change colors. I love your color choices, but I will have to have pinks in it. I can't do anything for myself without pinks, lol. You did an amazing job, Tracy. Will the stores get these or just from your site?

  2. Thanks, Hev! It'll definitely be available through shops. (At least I hope they'll buy some :o) I try to get the stitchers to support them at every opportunity.

I picked Mardi Gras colors, but this will (like so many of mine) be easy to map into colors of your choice. Be sure to send me a pic- I love to see how people interpret and personalize things.

  3. Will do. It looks so quick, I will put down BOINK to stitch it. I am wanting something quick to stitch.

  4. I love it and I love the Mardi Gras colors. I like the idea of a flat fold. How big is it?

  5. I'll be difficult and suggest a diamond shaped finish with a big ol' gold tassel at the bottom. It'd look spiffy on any Christmas tree.

  7. What a gorgeous design! Personally I'd vote for an oval frame, but it would look good finished in several ways.

  8. I love this! I will do it just as soon as I get it! I love the idea of a diamond shape with a tassel for a door knob or cabinet knob.
