Her sweater (modeled by the lovely Patti): Wild Blue Horses
And the part you might like even better:
This is "Fjord Ponies" and she's allowed me to release it and sell it as part of the Ink Circles line. It's cross stitch and back-stitching in seven shades of Vikki Clayton's HDF. I'll be bringing both her and the model with me to the TNNA wholesale show in St. Charles next month for the official release party.By the way, this will make three generations of Ink Circles designers. :o)

ReplyDeleteW-O-W! Both the sweater and the sampler a gorgeous! Since I can't knit worth a darn (never mind actually being able to darn!), I will be looking out for the cross-stitch pattern after its release next month! Thanks for sharing such fabulous designs, Tracy!

ReplyDeleteThere so few "nice" samplers with horses, thank you...thank you...Thank you!!!!!! Mwah!
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I wonder if my mom, who is a knitter, would be interested in a stitch-a-long of sorts! :D Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Tracy, I love that you recreated your mother's work!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful combination! I love the knitted sweater and you have translated it so beautifully into cross stitch. Love the design
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words - I'm sure Mum's ears are burning. And she does get the total credit - she designed and stitched the cross stitch pattern. I'm only helping her with marketing/distribution.
ReplyDeleteWow! That sweater is amazing! I've yet to try colour work in my knitting, but that is a huge incentive for me to do it. And how fabulous that you have released the matching design to stitch.
ReplyDeleteWow, I love both!
ReplyDeleteThis pattern with the horses is just gorgeous Tracy as is the sweater. I would love to stitch the cross stitch version when it comes out!! Very beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's my mom! Beautiful! Love, Darcy
ReplyDeletePlease Tracy!
ReplyDeleteCan you write me about simbols at your cross stitch pattern Fjord Ponies?
I will be stitch it and I want to know about national norge simbols!
To Vladisa, The major Norwegian symbol I used was the attebladsrosen, the eight pointed star. This is a very old symbol used in knitting and from 18th century embroidery, perhaps symbolizing snow or the winter climate. I used many versions of this star. Some of the ideas for motifs came from old books I have from museum embroidery. For example the "Navne-Duker" published in Norwegian in 1985. The little ponies of the fjords really exist and are so beautiful, sturdy, friendly horses. Thanks for liking my pattern! Cindy
ReplyDeleteDear Cindy!
ReplyDeleteI live in Siberia, Tomsk/ There are so much snow too)))
Very nice design! It like me very much!
I love this pattern! I'm Norwegian, but married to a brit and do not get to go home as much as i would like. This pattern just reminds me of home though, I just to ride fjordinger when I lived back home and the blues are perfect. I love the knitting patterns as well, thinking about appealing to my mum to knit me the hat and mittens :) Anyway thanks for designing it, can't wait till next pay day, just have to have this one.
